You're not just buying land, you're joining a community.
Build your coastal home on the magnificent Tasman Peninsula in Tasmania, just one hour from Hobart Airport!
Formerly a motel and golf course, the beautiful 23-acre (9.3ha) undulating and diverse property has rural and sea views and abundant water.
Tasman Ecovillage is a partnership between the developer (Parsons Bay Lodge Pty Ltd), and the Tasman Ecovillage Association and is based on permaculture and co-housing principles. The Ecovillage came into existence when the Community Development Scheme (strata title) was registered in 2013.
The ecovillage founders purchased some of the motel units to live in and to invest in. The initial land release of the 10 residential home sites in the "Pod A" cluster accommodates the second wave of settlers. Most of Pod A has now been sold with some homes already built and occupied and others under construction. With services currently being installed, home sites in Pods B, C and D are now also available for sale.
Purchase of a strata title home site includes a share in community facilities such as the community kitchen and dining area, common rooms, laundry, sauna, tennis courts and 19 acres (7.8ha) of common ground including the dams, the creek and some established gardens. Underground services (power, water and sewerage) are provided to all home sites and fixed wireless connections to the National Broadband Network (NBN) are available.
Residential and commercial zoning allows for home-based businesses. Employment opportunities are also provided by the existing visitor accommodation and licensed café in the village centre.
Local amenities such as the supermarket, bank, district school, medical centre, aged care home, pharmacy, tavern, pharmacy, post office, library, community centre, child care centre, the Tasman Council, skate park and swimming pool are all within a few minutes walk.
